I don’t consider myself to be some kind of “very stable genius” or anything, but I do like to think I’m capable of operating with some degree of common sense. And as I’ve witnessed the climate change movement evolve and name-change over the past couple decades, as I’ve watched those promoting it continue to live carbon-belching, energy-devouring lives, I’ve deduced that something more is at play here than an earnest desire to save the planet. And if you pay attention to the core players in the movement, it isn’t too tough to figure out what the real motivation is. Last Friday I wrote these words,
Some of the feedback I received for suggesting as much was predictably unreceptive asserting that I was nothing more than an ignorant “denier” with a strong aversion to fact-based science. For what it’s worth, I never feel the need to defend myself against such accusations because I am always confident that the progressive left will manage to prove my point in time. And in this case it only took a couple days. The Daily Caller drew attention to a recent Washington Post report that detailed a conversation between the climate director for Washington state’s Warmer-in-Chief Governor and Democrat presidential hopeful Jay Inslee and the chief of staff for everyone’s favorite Congressional Socialist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Here’s the part worth noting:
You got that right? Under the veil of saving the planet from manmade global warming, the real motivation is changing the economic system of the United States. And pray tell, do you suppose that those changes will reflect an approach that grants more freedom and liberty to the individual, or more power and jurisdiction to the governing elites? It sure seems like I’ve heard or read that somewhere before. I’m certainly not that smart, but this isn’t rocket science, folks. |
