If you do a Google search on the terms “Trump Dictator,” you are bombarded with a host of furious left-wing articles accusing the 45th president of having totalitarian designs.  And the articles aren’t from obscure publications; no, they are the offerings of mainstream outlets:

Politico discussed how “Donald dreams of dictators.”

USA Today – the same outlet that disgraced itself trying to shame Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray for tweets from when he was 15 years old...

Ask any elementary or pre-school aged child what is in a pregnant woman’s belly and the answer is guaranteed: “a baby.”  What else would it be, after all?

Ask any college-educated, Planned Parenthood supporting adult what is in a pregnant woman’s belly and the answer will vary.  In moments of debate or defense of their assertion that they have ownership over other human beings, you may hear something like “clump of cells,” “mass of tissue,” or even “potential life.”  But in the surprisingly unguarded moments, you’ll still hear the truth: “a baby.”

National Review and the Daily Wire recently drew attention to a little-noticed animated sex-ed video released by abortion giant Planned Parenthood last November...

As a Christian who believes and promotes the superiority of the Biblical sexual ethic, I’ve become quite accustomed to this silly accusation from progressive political activists: “all you evangelicals care about is homosexuality…why single out this one sin more than any other?”

I’ve always challenged those making such an assertion to randomly pick one evangelical church this coming Sunday and show up to services.  Go in, sit through the service, and then report back whether or not they heard anything about homosexuality that morning.  Christians aren’t nearly as pre-occupied with people’s sexual lives as what the left would have you believe.

In fact, the reason the left thinks that we are is two-fold.

Most people don’t like the perpetual campaign cycle that we’re in.  As soon as the presidential election ends, angling and posturing for the midterms begins.  As soon as the midterms conclude, presidential campaigns begin in earnest.  There’s no escaping it for those who even try to stay peripherally informed politically.  With 24-hour news channels desperately looking for something to fill time, social media that keeps up a persistent drumbeat of political opinion making, and our increasingly polarized political climate, I’m afraid to say that it’s here to stay.

So with that in mind, for my money I am yet to see a better prediction and analysis of what is to come in the 2020 presidential election than what conservative commentator Jonah Goldberg recently published.  Like me, at this point Goldberg sees Trump’s re-election chances to be a longshot...

Kevin Hart can’t host the Oscars because he wrote tweets eight years ago that poked fun at homosexuality.  But Lin-Manuel Miranda is on Fallon this week, has done comedy bits at the Oscars, has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and is a highly-celebrated co-star in the upcoming Disney flick, “Mary Poppins Returns,” all after tearfully celebrating the release of terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera and personally escorting the murderer to a performance of “Hamilton.”

Someone is going to have to explain that to me...

I spend a lot of time in the pulpit. So I suppose that I more than most should find offense in the recent complaint by Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez that too many people get their information from what they hear in, “the pulpit on Sunday.” But I wasn’t offended when the Democrats booed their party for re-inserting the word “God” back into their platform in 2012. I wasn’t offended when that same group booed the opening prayer of their convention in 2016. I wasn’t offended when Barack Obama mocked those who cling to their religion. So when I learned of Perez’s comments, I admit to finding them par for the course. In fact, I see them as more curious than anything...

I freely admit that I have not been following the Mueller investigation, the indictments, the newest information, the rumors, or the conjecture surrounding it very closely at all.  But in recent days my Twitter feed has been full of speculation that Trump’s presidency may be in serious jeopardy – that Mueller will end up releasing enough evidence against him personally that the new Democrat-controlled House of Representatives will be persuaded to impeach him.  And even though the Senate remains under Republican control, there is increased chatter that backroom deals might result in his ouster.

I pray...

Writing Christian cultural commentary, there is no question that the topic of sexuality is always the most highly-trafficked of any issue I discuss.  I’m almost guaranteed that every time I bring up the Christian sexual ethic, complementarianism of the two sexes, issues of gender identity, or immoral sexual conduct, I’m going to get a bevy of hostile, supportive, and sincerely inquisitive email responses.  Though I’m mostly thankful for all the feedback, it’s that last group that I pay special attention to.

Sometimes it will be people living an LGBT lifestyle wanting to understand my perspective better, but mostly those asking questions are...

I wrote yesterday about the legalism of the left.  It’s already begun to swallow everything up – Kevin Hart, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Baby It’s Cold Outside, VeggieTales, the miraculous birth of Jesus, Miss Universe, the Pilgrims, social media, and now apparently the Little Mermaid.

Here’s the story from the College Fix that is sadly anything but shocking:

An a cappella group at Princeton University has temporarily stopped singing a hit Disney song after at least one student complained that it can “catalyze violent tendencies toward, and assault against, women.”

I know my title may be a bit presumptuous but something dawned on me as I watched the Kevin Hart being unceremoniously forced out of his gig as host of the Academy Awards show: the same people who for years have insisted that Bible-believing Christians are sour, stuff-shirt, legalistic prudes have been projecting.  It’s a little embarrassing that it’s taken me this long to figure it out.

And I don’t just mean the obvious hypocrisy.  Everyone sees that.  There’s not a person with a functioning brain that doesn’t realize that the “tolerance” crowd is unquestionably the most intolerant people you will ever encounter...

I was never into the Rocky movie franchise and so I didn’t make a point to head to the theater and catch the recent release of Creed II.  But I did take notice of a powerful commentary based on the movie written by Greg Morse.  He effectively used the fictional plotline as a magnifying glass to reveal the all-to-familiar reality of life for far too many black boys in America:

No man in his corner. No one to teach him how to throw a right hook or a left uppercut, how to propose to his girlfriend, or how to process hardship in his family.

I recently retweeted some alarming statistics from the CDC that demonstrate the consequence to the epidemic of fatherlessness in our country...

I only wish I could have seen this piece on Thanksgiving when it came out. It deserved – and earned – mockery then, and I only wish I could have been part of the crowd of historians and commentators dragging it. The progressive pop-culture site VICE ran a story on Thanksgiving Day entitled, “The Pilgrims Were Queer.”

A couple things to address immediately:

(1) I will forever be perplexed by the frequent and affirmative use of the word “queer” by allies of the LGBT revolution. I don’t know the precise moment when the term went from being a derogatory insult to an appropriate identification, but it apparently happened. What I’m still not clear on is whether this is a word that is only acceptable when used by those who are LGBT or whether it’s for public use. Personally, I’m going to...

If you’re wondering how fast Western Civilization is hurdling itself towards the edge of a cliff, simply look at the news coming out of Britain:

Dorothy Stringer School, in Brighton, has had 40 pupils between the ages of eleven and 16 who do not identify with their biological sex. A further 36 pupils identify as ‘gender-fluid’.

Over the past five years, the number of children referred to the NHS’s gender clinic has risen by 700 per cent...

It’s been a long-standing position on the right that progressivism can, and if given enough time will, ruin everything.  It’s a joyless, cheerless, hopeless ideology that breeds misery and thrives on perpetual discontent.

The latest pieces of evidence in that regard comes from recent attacks on Christmas classic.  Start with the #MeToo movement attacking the holiday anthem “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.”  Apparently, it’s just a little too rapey for progressive sensibilities.  But wait…there’s more.  A recent post from the progressive flagship, Huffington Post, attacking of all things, the claymation Christmas classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer...

Let’s be honest, there’s no way that Gonzaga University is going to be able to maintain their ban on conservative commentator Ben Shapiro coming to their campus to speak.  It’s too hypocritical, too weak, too transparent, and it’s too poorly substantiated to survive the glare of attention that new media will focus upon it.

In the days before internet, cable news, and social media, a private Jesuit school in Washington State could have gotten away with inviting left-wing radicals to speak while denying mainstream conservatives...
