I understand that everyone has a cause, and it seems everyone is desperately looking to be viewed as woke and enlightened.  I also understand that social media is a magnet for virtue-signaling nonsense.  That’s still no excuse for what has to be one of the most absurd performances of word-saladry I have every witnessed.

Commenting on the controversial case of South African runner Caster Semanya, a world champion racer who is under suspicion of not actually being a female and/or having an “intersex” trait that gives her a competitive advantage, Black feminist author who goes by the name “Lady Jade” put together this exercise in prolixity:

“There is so much to say about the Caster Semanya case: biological essentialism, how Blackness is incompatible with binary notions of gender, how white women engage victimhood as a punitive, anti-black apparatus, and how hegemonic womanhood is operationalized and maintained.”

What. In. Heavens. Name. Is. That.

There’s a classic scene in the famous sitcom Seinfeld in which Jerry smirks at Kramer after one of his rants and says what I think every rational, normal person wants to (even if they don’t admit it) say to Lady Jade after reading that:

“Boy you can really talk some trash, can’t you?"

I mean, seriously – why?  Why do we have to pretend what she said makes sense when it doesn’t?

Why do we have to continue acting as though these made up terms, these uber-woke phrases like “biological essentialism” and “hegemonic womanhood” actually have meaning in the realm of normal people?

Why must we suffer racially-tinged absurdities like the suggestion that “blackness is incompatible with binary notions of gender?”

Why must we acquiesce before the fevered voices of division anxious to make a racist or bigot out of world class athletes who may just have legitimate objections about fairness?

Again, I understand that churning this stuff out has become more than a pastime for hordes of online social justice warriors.  I get that it’s financially lucrative and socially profitable to think and talk this way.

I’m just asking why we let it be?
