But what do I say?

Contacting Legislators is an important part of seeing to it that good legislation passes.

Here is some good samples on what to say.

Sample Letter to a Legislator

Dear ___________________________

With all of the advancements in medical science, we can easily look back and realize that 44 years ago the Supreme Court made its Roe v. Wade decision based on faulty science. With modern technology, we can now establish that an unborn fetus is indeed a living human individual and should command the protection of such life. You may realize that Indiana Code IC 16-34-2-1.1 states “that human physical life begins when a human ovum is fertilized by a human sperm.” This was put into Indiana law as advancements in medical science continued and we can agree as a state that life does indeed begin at fertilization. Today we need courageous leaders to step up and take a historic stand to protect Indiana's preborn population. I both request and expect that you will support and encourage the passing of the "Protection at Conception" bill in the 2017 Indiana legislature.

I am aware that many medical advances have taken place since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision was made this has changed the landscape of that ruling. I am also aware that Indiana Code IC 16-34-2-1.1 states that life begins at fertilization. I hope that you are one who I can count on to step up in support and encouragement of the “Protection at Conception” bill in this legislative session. Multitudes of future Hoosier lives depend on it.
