Let’s face it, CNN’s Jim Acosta is way too easy of a target.  His narcissism is legendary; the romance he has with himself is one of history’s greatest love stories.  His credibility is so shot, his trustworthiness so extinct, it’s actually a shocking self-own that CNN continues to trot him out there as their “Chief White House Correspondent.”  Suffice it to say that a network already suffering from low ratings and a credibility crisis is not helped by consistently featuring a man who has become a walking one-liner to citizens across the political spectrum.

So ordinarily I wouldn’t take the time to pluck the low-hanging fruit.  But Jason Howerton of The Blaze posted a video montage of Acosta that was so jarring, so brutal, so devastating that it even earned a retweet from the White House Press Secretary, along with the “Dear Diary” preface that has become Acosta-mockers’ calling card.

In case you’re at work and can’t watch a video, I’ll help.  The video begins with current-day, Trump-era Acosta appearing on CNN with host Brooke Baldwin.  Mocking Daily Caller reporter Saagar Enjeti for his “softball” question to Trump, Acosta complained:

“The question was asked in a way (chuckle) that really teed it up like a game of tee-ball here in the Rose Garden. The President was sort of just served up a softball there when he was asked whether or not the Democrats are advancing a lot of socialist ideas.”

You could see it coming.  Anyone who lived through the previous administration knew what was about to roll.  The “real reporters don’t lob softball questions to the president” video of Trump-era Acosta was followed-up with a clip of Obama-era Acosta throwing this curveball to 44:

“I wanted to ask you about what some people are calling your “best week ever” last week.  You had two Supreme Court decisions supportive of the Affordable Care Act and of gay rights.  You also delivered a speech down in Charleston that was pretty warmly received.  It seems that you’ve built up some political capital for the remaining months of your presidency.  I’m curious how you want to use it.  What hard things do you want to tackle at this point.”
